Service Suite - Stock count - How to create a stock count report.
In order to be able to create your own stock count report, you must have a valid license for the Report Designer in Service Suite.
If you wish to create your own stock count report, you must start by selecting the menu: "Stock count" from the "Main menu". The stock count module looks like this:

Here you click the link: "Print" from the icon bar, which will launch following dialog:

If you have a valid license for the Report Designer in Service Suite the button: "New" will be enabled. When you press this button the Report Designer will be started:

The Report Designer will be launched with the dialog: "Add new report" activated. In this dialog we enter a name for the report, as well as a brief description:

In this case we wish to design the report for our default printer: "HP DeskJet 1120C" with its default paper size (A4). Just to make sure select the tab: "Paper settings" which looks like this:

Here we are satisfied that A4 is selected. You can adjust the reports margins by clicking on the tab: "Margins". In this case we just press the button: "OK", which will allow us to design the report:

The properties for the selected control show the settings for the selected control. This is true both for the selected section of the report, as well as inserted fields.
The toolbar is used to insert fields in the active section (marked with a red border), and looks like this:

A field can be inserted by selecting the section of the report where the field should be inserted, and using the toolbar to insert the field.
To begin with we insert a number of fields as shown in this illustration of the design area:

On the report header we insert an ordinary field and specify that the text should be: "Stock count". Then we change the font size of the field in the properties for the control.
Then we select then: "Page header" section and inserts 5 fields and a shape. We label the fields: "Item no.", "Description", "Quantity", "Amount" and "Item no." as shown and set the height of the shape to 0, which results in a horizontal line.
Now the "Details" section is selected, where we insert 4 data fields and a bar code field, and place them as shown above. These fields we bind to: "Item no.", "Description", "Quantity", "Line amount" and "Item no.". This is done by selecting each field, and then selecting which value we wish the data field to contain from the "Data field" property in the property area of the Report Designer. The bar code field is treated as an ordinary data field except that the data will be displayed as a bar code on the report. This makes it possible to print bar codes for all the data registered on your products.
In the "Page footer" section, 2 fields are inserted which contains some "secret" codes. If you as shown assigns the text: "Page %p of %P" to a field, "%p" will be replaced with the number of the current page when the report is printed, and "%P" will be replaced by the total number of pages. In the same way "%d" will be replaced by the date the report is printed.
In the section: "Report footer" we insert a formula field, which we bind to "Line amount" in the same way as with the data fields in the "Details" section. The "Report footer" will be printed on the last page of the report, but before the section: "Page footer". This will be illustrated further below in this article.
Now we have designed our report we select: "Save and close" from the menu, which will close the Report Designer and return to this dialog:

In this dialog we press the button: "Print Preview" and our new report will be shown:

As mentioned above there is one more thing worth mentioning about the "Report footer" of the report. If we navigate to the last page of the report it will look like this:

Highlighted with the red frame above you can see the "Report footer", which shows the sum of the "Line amount" field.
The report has now been created and all you need to do in order to print this is click on the printer icon in the toolbar
If you're not quite satisfied with the design of the report, you can naturally adjust this as much as you like.
