In some cases you might need to adjust a stock count.

This need often arises if you have created your stock count by using a bar code reader. When a stock count is created from a bar code reader, a new stock count will be created. This new stock count will use the products cost price, as this is the most frequently preferred price to use on stock counts.

If you wish to use the products sales price instead, adjusting the stock count can do this.

If you have created a new stock count, based on multiple other stock counts with different price settings, you will usually also need to adjust your new stock count in order to ensure that the same prices are used for all the products contained in the stock count.

 Stock count properties.

In this example we wish that our stock count should use the products sales price, and not the cost price. We begin by selecting the stock count that we wish to change:

The first thing to do is to change the properties of the stock count, so that the sales price is used when new products are added to the stock count. This is done by pressing the button: "Administer stock count", which will launch this dialog:

Here we select the stock count to adjust from the list, and press the button: "Edit stock count". Following dialog will be launched:

In this dialog we select that the sales price should be used. When this has been selected we press the button: "Finish", which closes the dialog.

Now when products are added to the stock count, the sales price will be used.

 Adjust the stock count.

Now all new products will be added with the sales price, but what about all the products already contained in the stock count? How do we update the prices of those products to contain the sales price?

This can be done by clicking on the link: "Adjust" in the icon bar. This will launch following dialog:

In this dialog we select that we wish to update the price of all the products in the stock count, to contain the sales price excl. vat. When this has been selected the button: "OK" is pressed, which will update the price of all the products in the stock count.

Be careful when adjusting a stock count! If you wish to update the price or description of the products contained in a stock count, any prices or descriptions that you have entered manually will be replaced with the values of the products from the product module in Service Suite.
