Service Suite - eCommerce - What is the purpose of exporting the eCommerce catalog?
Exporting the eCommerce catalog is rarely needed or used, as the main purpose of the eCommerce module in Service Suite, is to distribute your catalog and receive orders via the Internet.
If you need to, Service Suite can export your eCommerce catalog to a file, which then can be copied to a disk or CD and send by ordinary mail to your customers, or distributed at trade shows etc.
Exporting the eCommerce catalog.
You can export your eCommerce catalog, by selecting the menu: "e-Commerce" from the "Main menu", followed by the selection of the menu: "Inventory".
Service Suite will now look a bit like this:

Here you click the link: "Export catalog" from the icon bar, which will launch this dialog:

In this dialog you select the folder that your eCommerce catalog should be exported to. Only the folder should be selected. When this is done you press the button: "Finish", whereby your eCommerce catalog will be exported. After a few moments this confirmation will be displayed:

As this dialog illustrates, your eCommerce catalog has now been exported, and you are free to distribute this catalog to your customers however you like. Your customers can then import your catalog, and view the contents in their supplier module in Service Suite.
