           - How to create a new customer?

In order to create a new customer in Service Suite you must be located in the customer ledger

From the icon bar, which contains the customer specific functions, you select the link: "New customer", which launches this dialog:

On the tab: "General" you can enter the basic information's about the customer. The only required field is the customer no. which must be unique.

When the tab: "Other info." is pressed the dialog will change and display fields for entering the VAT. no., payment- and delivery terms as well as the customers price, discount and invoice group.

When the tab: "Employees" is selected it is possible to specify which employees the customer prefers, and which employees (if any) that are not preferred by this particular customer. This information is primarily used by the planning module in Service Suite, and will only be accessible if you have a valid license for the planning module.

On the tab: "Licenses and Web shop" it is possible to view if a license has been generated for the customer and when this license was last sent to the customer, as well as login and password information's. This tab will not be displayed unless you have a license for the eCommerce module or the Web shop module in Service Suite.

When you press the tab: "User fields" the dialog will change and display 12 fields for entering custom information's about the customer. These fields can be defined as you like, and it is possible to specify numerous conditions and validations for each field.

Which tabs that are displayed depend on which modules in Service Suite licenses have been purchased for. The tab: "Licenses and Web shop" will e.g. only be shown if you have a valid license for the Web shop module or the eCommerce module in Service Suite. These modules are normally only used by suppliers and larger retailers, and are described in the eCommerce section of this site. 

When you have entered all known information's about the customer, you press the button: "OK" which will save those information's.

If you later wish to edit a specific customer, this can be done be locating the customer in the list of customers and double click on the customer. This will display the same dialog, now containing the customer's information's.
